An Attendance fee

is paid to attending bands for their involvement in the Christmas Parade probably in the order of $200 depending on budget requirements
The Street March

will be held in Commercial Street East, (in front of the City Hall), beginning at 9.30am. There will be an ‘inspection’, drill adjudication and music assessment during the march which extends to the second intersection ONLY.
 A trophy and cash award of $150 is presented to the winning band in the Street March.
Reception – morning tea
The invitations will be sent for this function under the auspices of and direction of The City of Mount Gambier. To be held in the City Hall in the Cave Gardens area.
Massed March
All attending Bands will all rank in two massed formations at 10.30am in Commercial Street East in front of the City Hall. Bands march to the assembly point for the Christmas Parade (Crouch Street) playing McAnnally’s Waltzing Matilda. The 1st group march is led by Mount Gambier’s Drum Major, Mrs Carol Megaw and the 2nd group march by a selected Drum Major 
The Christmas Parade @ 11.30am
Bands form up individually under instructions of the marshals for the WIN TV Christmas Parade in Crouch Street – South of the Commercial Street intersection. WIN TV sponsors the Christmas Parade and telecasts the Parade at 6.30pm on Saturday evening. WIN TV will award a cash payment to the band selected as the best band in the Christmas Parade.

Will be held in its entirety in the Helpmann Theatre. The contest will be held in graded divisions dependent on entry numbers. These selected divisions will be awarded a cash prize and trophy for the winning band and runner up in each grade.
